Character Description
Physical Description
Tall, even by Night Elf standards, Mielikki stands nearly 6' 5" in height but is very thin. Her skin is of a pale lavender and both her eyes and hair are silver, the former having the soft inner glow that is common to her race. More unusual is the fact she lacks any of the facial marking that most of her race possesses and seems to carry herself in a much less dignified manner than many Night Elves and this shows, she frequently slouches, leans against objects or sits in an 'improper' manner when she trying to get comfortable.
She has a lithe physique with small lines of muscle visible beneath the surface of her skin, especially when exerting herself. Nowadays its not surprising to see her smudged with dirt or grease with unkempt hair when she makes an appearance due to her obsession with engineering.
Voice
She has a very peculiar accent that is not Kaldorei by any means, and her common sounds a bit like a modern day New York cabbie. She speaks very fast, more so when excited though tends to slip into her native tongue (Goblin) when angry or annoyed.
Personality
Because of her upbringing, Mielikki is more Goblin that Night Elf by an order of magnitude and it shows in her personality. She makes no apologies for her love of gold, riches and treasure (Swag as she calls it) but tends to be as generous with as she can be. To her the making of the money is far more important than keeping it. Acquisition of wealth rather than the hording of it determines one's skill and a single 'big score' is more valuable than carefully gathered and saved money.
Explosives, guns and gadgets are her great loves and she devotes most of her time to building them, taking them apart or gathering materials to build them. She also chatters incessantly about tech with anyone who shows an interest in the subject. Recently she has thrown off any facade of being a Night Elf and fully embraces her Goblin heritage, much to the disdain of her biological parents as well as the powers that be in Darnassus.
History
Born of a typical Night Elf couple, Mielikki accompanied her parents on an ocean voyage to The Eastern Kingdoms as a small child. On the return trip their vessel was caught in a terrible storm and Mielikki was washed overboard. Thinking she had drowned, her family returned home and mourned their loss. However, Mielikki was not dead and had in fact washed ashore in Stranglethorn Vale, where she was rescued by a Goblin merchant marine family.
Barely a toddler when this occurred she was quite impressionable and raised among the Goblins as one of their own in Booty Bay. Even though she saw other Night Elves from time to time she didn't identify with them until she was much older, and by then she considered herself a Goblin at heart despite what she appeared to be.
The simple fact that she was much taller and could therefore accomplish tasks that frequently required the hiring of other races to do earned her special favor in the family and in time she was given command of her own vessel. Initially she was given legitimate routes with mundane cargo, but as she proved herself she was slowly initiated into the world of smuggling, which was much more lucrative if also more risky. Eventually she was running goods between the Alliance and Horde battle lines for whomever could pay her, but was eventually caught by a Forsaken Vessel off of the Coast of Ratchet. Out manned and out gunned, she had no choice but to abandon ship and try to swim for it. She made it into Ratchet proper and lost herself in the throng of people that had shown up to watch the sea battle between her ship and the Forsaken craft.
One of the people who appeared was a druidess named Aurayle, who saw something familiar in the other Night Elf and questioned her as to her identity. Some short time later, it was revealed that Mielikki and Aurayle were in fact sisters and that Mie had been thought to be dead this many years. Still unsure whether this was true or not, Mielikki agreed to accompany Aurayle back to Darnassus, if only so she would have an escort out of the mess she was currently embroiled in.
Upon arrival in the Night Elven capital, she was greeted by her tearful parents who immediately explained what had happened and how grateful they were to have her back with them. This however was not to last, as Mielikki showed an actual aversion to nature, forests and the general Night Elven way of life. In hopes of making some sort of compromise with her blood-relatives she agreed to try the path of the hunter, and was surprisingly adept at it. Though she eschewed bows in favor of guns, her parents were still pleased, and Mie was too as it gave her many excuses to leave Darnassus, explore the world and visit with what she felt was her real family, the Goblins of Booty Bay.
Present Day
Recently she has thrown off any pretense of being a Night Elf, and was summarily disowned by her Night Elven parents. This just bolstered her independent streak even more, and after talking to her sister Aurayle, has stopped making any pretense of being or acting as a [proper] Night Elf and has fully "Embraced her weirdness" much to the annoyance of many people, not least of all her Night Elven parents.
