Herbalism (Alliance)

Many herbs with various purposes grow all over Azeroth, as an herbalist, it is your job to gather them. The more you gather, the better quality of herbs you'll be able to successfully gather as you increase in skill.

Uses

The herbs you can gather have many uses, primarily, they are useful to alchemists for various potions and such. However, certain herbs are useful to every crafting profession (not sure about Jewelcrafting), and are even useful to the secondary skill, cooking, as well. The herbs you gather can also be used to make money, whether it's one extra item to sell to a vendor, or you put them up at the auction house for others to purchase (I'd suggest never vendoring certain herbs, such as briarthorn, as they sell for much more at the auction house).

Tips & Suggestions

Gather everything, if you no longer need it, you can always sell it for a bit of cash flow later.

If you see someone fighting close to an herb, either leave it be, or wait to see if they gather the herb after their fight (you could even help them finish the fight then wait to see if they gather the herb). Think how peeved you'd be if you had to fight your way through to an herb and someone just waltzes right in and gathers it while you're on the last obstacle. Likewise, if you see someone else heading for the herb, handle it politely, rather than with greed. How you gather can have direct effects on your ability to get groups for unrelated things.
